Andy Freeborn

Andy Freeborn (they/them), is a multi-disciplinary, queer auteur-musician creating narrative song cycles for the stage. Some of Andy ’s credits include: Miracle City (Theatre Division/Sydney Opera House), the Australian tour of Eireborne, Disney ’s 100 Years of Magic, and currently, with Performing Line’s M’ap Boule.

Andy has musically directed and arranged for: Nikki Webster, Spiegelesque (Kermond Creative) 2016-2018, The Decay of Lying (Jess Ramsey, NIDA), Judy! A Celebration of Judy Garland (Little Triangle in association with Hayes Theatre Company) and is currently musical directing Artefact by Lincoln Elliott (Adelaide Cabaret Festival ’26)

 

An award-winning artist, their original work has been highly acclaimed, receiving attention and praise for their ability as a story-teller and their inventive expression and use of piano arrangements for theatre. The Work: Alice (2022), Death to a Butterfly (supported by Antipodes Theatre Company), Everything is Shit! (2023) & Brand New Dress (2026).
