Anne Tenney

Anne Tenney was born in Sydney, Australia and has long been a staple in the Australian film, television and theatre industries. After graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Art she began her acting career with guest roles across several Australian TV drama series, and stage roles for the Griffin Theatre Company, before landing one of her most iconic roles as Molly in 'A Country Practice' in 1984. Anne was awarded 4 Logie Awards for Most Popular Actress in the 1980s. Anne has played some of Australia's favourite mums, including Sal Kerrigan in 'The Castle' (1997), and Liz Taylor in 2 seasons of 'Always Greener' for the Seven Network. Anne has most recently appeared on television in the roles of Diana Parkinson in NCIS Sydney S2 2024, Tess in Royal Flying Doctors Service, and in the role of Barbara in Underbelly: Vanishing Act. Her latest theatrical role was Ma Singer in the 2023 Sydney Theatre Company's production of "Oil" which was directed by Paige Rattray. This year Anne has just wrapped filming the Paramount + Series Playing Gracie Darling in the role of Moira Darling.​
