David Hooley
David Hooley is a Hong Kong Chinese actor and voice over artist. Having immigrated to Australia at the age of 19 to attend drama school he went on to graduate from NIDA, WAAPA and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, leaving him grossly over-educated. This excess of instruction has led to a career now spanning 25 years, both here in Australia as well as in the UK and Hong Kong. Theatre credits include Spamalot (Her Majesty’s Theatre Melbourne), Richard III (Sheriffs Court Glasgow), Fiddler on the Roof (Australian Tour), The Bends (Traverse Theatre Edinburgh), King Of The Air (City Recital Hall), As You Like It (Shakespeare’s Globe Australia), as well as The View Upstairs, Aspects of Love, and The Hello Girls (Hayes theatre). David has recently starred in the film series A Royal In Paradise, whose sequel “A Royal Proposal” was released in early 2025. He is passionate about new writings and has been involved with multiple workshop productions including Dot and the Kangaroo, Between Worlds, Noli Me Tangare, In A Little Room, and Crikey! It's a Steven Irwin Musical. David started his career as a voiceover artist, presenter and actor on several of the English speaking radio and television stations in Hong Kong, as well as voicing multiple characters in the internationally released Thru The Moebius Strip (GDC Entertainment); the first digitally animated film out of China.
