
Doug Scroope
Doug Scroope is a seasoned Australian actor, comedian, and musical theatre performer whose career spans more than fifty years across stage, screen, television, and voice work. He began performing in amateur theatre and revue before forming the vocal comedy trio The Colleagues, who performed throughout Australia and New Zealand on the club circuit, on television, and internationally for fourteen years.
After leaving the trio, Doug established a successful solo career as a stand-up comedian while expanding into acting across theatre, television, and film. His extensive television credits include Police Rescue, Kingswood Country, Home and Away, The Sullivans, Cop Shop, Prisoner, Heartbreak High, Janet King, Frayed, Deadly Women, Chandon Pictures, and GP. His film work includes Dark City, Starstruck, The Night the Prowler, The Potato Factory, Fatal Honeymoon, and Immortal.
Doug’s theatre career includes major musical productions such as The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Jolson the Musical, Shout! The Musical, Singin’ in the Rain, and Great Expectations – The Musical, as well as numerous stage productions including Communicating Doors, Everybody Loves Opal, The Odd Couple, and Dimboola.
In addition to his screen and stage work, Doug is a prolific voice artist whose credits include voicing Diesel the Truck in the Emmy-nominated children’s series Johnson and Friends (78 episodes) and characters in the animated feature Puss in Boots. His career also includes extensive work in radio plays, corporate films, and more than one hundred television commercials.
