
Katherine Shearer
Katherine Shearer is a graduate of the Flinders University Drama Centre, SA. Bachelor of Arts (Honours, Drama). In her early years in Sydney Katherine performed in theatre festivals in Columbia, Korea, China, Singapore, Doha & Malaysia as a dancer/actor. Theatre credits include Human Activity (KXT), Eurydice (Foul Play Theatre), Scenes From An Execution (Old Fitz), Decadence (Winner Sydney Fringe 2013, Nominated Best Theatre Adelaide Fringe 2014) and Schools Education tours of Macbeth & Much Ado About Nothing. Kate has worked with Apocalypse Theatre (Metamorphoses), NIDA Independent (Set The Play), Bakehouse Theatre (Her Holiness), Epicentre Theatre (The Laramie Project, Of Mice and Men), New Theatre (Farnsworth Invention, The House of Games), Rocksurfers (Midnight Theatre, Sugar! Bondi Feast), Genesian (The Glass Menagerie), Arts Theatre, (Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, The Glass Menagerie), Rockdale Musical Society (Les Miserables, Jekyll and Hyde) as well as many new Australian works. In 2015 Katherine performed the one woman show Bitch Boxer, which sold out at Old 505 Theatre in May with a return season at KXT in the Sydney Fringe. From a young age, Katherine was a single studies student at The Adelaide Conservatorium and member of the acclaimed Adelaide Chamber Singers working as a Baroque musician and singer growing up in Adelaide. Her screen work includes Ten Pound Poms, RAKE, Home and Away, Behind Mansion Walls, Deadly Women, Redd Inc and many short films. Katherine studied musical theatre at Guildford School of Acting (UK), scene study classes at Ivana Chubbuck (LA), and in Sydney with Kevin Jackson and Greg Apps.
