Nico Lathouris

Nico Lathouris is an Australian actor and screenwriter best known for his collaboration with George Miller on Mad Max(1979), and as co-screenwriter of Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024).

On screen, Nico gained recognition for his roles as George Polides in The Heartbreak Kid and George Poulos in Heartbreak High, earning a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 1993 AFI Awards. He also appeared in Police Rescue and received an AFI nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama in 1991. Nico is currently Dramaturgy with the documentary feature film The Troublemaker.

On stage, Nico has performed in David Hare’s Fanshen for Nimrod Theatre and recently

featured in a nationwide Telstra campaign as “The Cobbler.”
