Nico Lathouris

Nico Lathouris is an Australian actor and writer. He is best known for his debut appearance in George Miller's film Mad Max (1979) as a car mechanic. Since then, Nico teamed up with George to co co-screen writer of Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024).

On television, Nico is best remembered for his roles as George Polides The Heartbreak Kid and as George Poulos in the spin-off Heartbreak High. Nico was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film at the 1993 Australian Film Institute Awards. Other television credits include the series Police Rescue. At the 1991 Australian Film Institute Awards, he was nominated for the AFI Award for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama.

Nico performed for the Nimrod Theatre in David Hare's play, Fanshen and has most recently appeared in an expansive Telstra campaign as the Cobbler traveling Australia.
